
Ottilie Laan
Ottilie Laan read Dutch civil law at Leiden University. She was admitted to the Amsterdam bar in 2000.
Ottilie specialises in civil construction and real estate law.
Ottilie’s practice consists of advising and litigating on civil construction law (infra, civil and non-residential construction and hydraulic engineering), the Building Quality Assurance Act (Wkb), PPP and area development (cooperation agreements, DBFM(O) and project finance), renewable energy, purchase agreements, commercial real estate law and real estate transactions.
Before (co)founding Laedas advocaten in 2025, Ottilie worked as a lawyer at Stibbe in Amsterdam and at various niche firms specialising in construction and real estate law, among other things. From 2004 to 2007, she was an in-house lawyer at Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten (BNG) specialising in the structuring and project supervision of PPP and construction projects in the form of lifecycle contracts (DBFM(O)), integrated contracts and area development. In addition to her work at Laedas advocaten, Ottilie is associated with Franssen Tolboom advocaten as a construction- and real estate (of-)counsel.
Ottilie’s clients include medium-sized and large contractors, property developers, architects, quality assurance officers, banks and consultants.
Besides her work as a lawyer, Ottilie publishes regularly in the Tijdschrift Bouwrecht (TBR) and she was an author of the Tijdschrift voor Vastgoedrecht.
As a lecturer, Ottilie regularly provides (in company) courses on construction and real estate-related topics including the Quality Assurance (Building Sector) Act (Wkb). Ottilie regularly writes blogs and more extensive publications on construction and real estate law in professional journals. In 2005, Ottilie completed the public construction law course at the Institute for Construction Law. She also completed the ‘Grotius’ post-graduate course ‘Real Estate’ in 2006.
